Death
Peter Parker was infected by a virus by the Vulture right before finding out his wife Mary Jane was pregnant. When they were out celebrating at a fancy restaraunt, Peter looked out the window to see Octavius on a rooftop. Octavius unmasked Parker as Spider-Man in a previous encounter and learned his secret identity that way. Furious, Parker left the restaraunt to attack Doctor Octopus. After a short battle, though, Parker was subdued and Octavius explained that he had found the cure to Peter's virus. The two agreed reluctantly to work together.
Octavius took Peter to his lab, and gave him the cure. Peter took it after some persuasion, but slightly too late for it to be completely effective. Peter went into cardiac arrest, and Octavius worked quickly to save him. He sent Stunner away to meet him later, and when Parker came to he told him that he saved him so that they could continue their rivalry, and that he needed Parker to maintain balance in his life.
The cops that Octavius himself contacted arrived to take him away, and he went willingly. While Stunner perched to help him make good his escape from the transport vehicle, Kaine knocked her out. When it was not Stunner who stopped the van, Octavius exploded at Kaine in rage and worry for Stunner. Kaine proved stronger, though, and murdered Octavius. Stunner found his body later.
