Rebirth
The Rose hatched a plan to revive Otto Octavius to suit his own plans. He contracted a ninja spiritualist mystical midget person named Master Zei, part of the group "the Hand", to revive the corpse. He was told by Zei a sacrifice would be needed, and Rose immediately decided to lure Spider-Man into a trap to fulfill this duty.
Carolyn Trainer, who had by this point took up the role of Doctor Octopus, stumbled upon the plan. She went to Angelina Brancale to convince her to reprise the role of Stunner and help her bring back Octavius the way she prefered.
They went to the place the ceremony was to be conducted and the ninja groups contracted by Rose attacked them. During the fight Spider-Man entered the frey, and they all turned on him. Spider-Man was struck with a drugged throwing star and chained down for the ceremony.
Trainer and Brancale stuck around for the ceremony, knowing that Rose would try and use Octavius for his own purposes. In a hallucination brought on by the ceremony Spider-Man managed to break his bonds and escape. To keep the ceremony going smoothly, Stunner took Parker's place as a sacrifice. Since her body was a product of the simulacrum, though, the ceremony went awry and even though Ock was brought back, Stunner's soul and that of Master Zei and his helpers were destroyed. Carolyn Trainer attached a device to the revived Octavius to download the info from the Master Programmer into him.
Almost immediately Octavius went on a homicidal rampage after Parker. Carolyn Trainer convinced him to halt the attack before they could be apprehended. They returned to the undersea hideout where they found Angelina's real body braindead.
